With toob’s FTTP network, fibre optic cables are connected directly to the home, rather than traditional broadband providers that deliver internet via old copper cables to the premises. This FTTP network promises residents a faster, more reliable internet connection at an affordable rate. toob is investing £18m to cover 45,000 premises with this new infrastructure. Currently, toob’s network can be found in cities and towns across Surrey and Hampshire including Southampton, Fareham, Aldershot, Farnborough and Camberley.
The communities of Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent will soon benefit from full-fibre broadband with download and upload speeds of 900 Mbps. With the Gosport’s current average broadband speed reported as just 106 Mbps, the residents in the area will be able to receive a better service to improve their working from home life, gaming, streaming and general internet connection.
