known objects that can affect your wi-fi

You might be surprised how many household items can impact wi-fi performance – in every home!

Your home environment can change throughout the day, which may affect your wi-fi experience so you’re not enjoying the full benefit…

try to keep your router away from:

  • concrete walls (like in some apartments)
  • thick timber beams/walls
  • windows, mirrors, TV screens, even fish tanks
  • large furniture (never tucked behind the sofa)
  • multiple power cables/adapters/festive lights
  • kitchen spaces, microwaves, radiators and appliances
  • Bluetooth or other wi-fi devices (set-top boxes and speakers)

location, location, location

The best location for your wi-fi router is in a central location (not in a cupboard, behind the TV or on the floor).
