Think about where you use internet most and consider the best location for your wi-fi router. It makes a big difference!
For the best results, this would usually be on an elevated surface in a central location (not in a cupboard, drawer or behind the TV).
Avoid physical obstructions such as thick walls, large furniture or reflective surfaces. Steer clear of interference from other wi-fi or Bluetooth devices. Discover objects known to affect wi-fi.
If you’re thinking of moving your wi-fi router to a different position, use a CAT5e/CAT6 ethernet cable – it doesn’t need to be beside the wall-mounted fibre box and it should be near where you use the internet most.
We’ve provided a small spare cable for you, and these are easily available in all sizes and colours if you’re going a longer distance.
